Important Public Notice: Non-Government & Independent Devotee Assistance Initiative

1. Private Facilitation Entity: This platform is operated as an independent private initiative and devotee facilitation organization. We are NOT an official agency, statutory board, department, or representative of the Government of India, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Ayodhya District Administration, the Department of Tourism (UP), or Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

2. Cultural and Descriptive Reference: Any references to "Ayodhya", "Ram Mandir", "Sarayu Ghats", or "Deepotsav" are used purely in an informational, descriptive, and cultural context to identify the historic festival and spiritual tradition celebrated annually in Ayodhya Dham.

3. Pure Seva and Assistance Purpose: Our sole aim is to assist elderly devotees, families with health restrictions, NRI devotees, and those living across India and the world who are physically unable to travel to Ayodhya, enabling them to connect spiritually through our local volunteers and artisans.

1. Nature of the Platform & Why a Private Initiative Exists

Ayodhya Deepotsav is one of the most sacred celebrations of Sanatan Dharma, attracting millions of devotees. However, due to severe logistical bottlenecks, long travel distances, elderly age, medical restrictions, infant care, or overseas residence, millions of devout individuals cannot travel in person to Ayodhya Dham to light a diya with their own hands.

This private initiative was born out of a noble desire to bridge this emotional and spiritual gap. We organize local youth volunteers, priests, and rural artisans in Ayodhya to offer an organized, dignified, and personalized facilitation service on behalf of devotees worldwide.

By accessing this website, requesting a diya lighting, or making a contribution, you acknowledge and agree that you are engaging an assisted convenience and ground facilitation service managed by a private organization.

2. Clarification on Service Fee vs. Spiritual Offerings (No Sale of Faith)

We believe unequivocally that faith, blessings, bhakti, and spiritual merit (punya) cannot be bought or sold. No private or commercial entity can sell divine grace.

Where does the ₹999 facilitation contribution go?

  • Empowering Local Ayodhya Potters: Purchasing handmade, eco-friendly earthen clay lamps (diyas) directly from traditional rural potters and artisans in Ayodhya, supporting their livelihood.
  • Pure Puja Consumables: Sourcing high-grade pure mustard oil / sesame oil, fresh cotton wicks (batti), roli, chawal, and sacred marigold flowers.
  • Ground Volunteer Stipends & Seva Logistics: Supporting dedicated local youth volunteers and sevadars who remain on the ghats for hours to prepare, position, light, and guard the devotee's diya.
  • Technology & Live Video Infrastructure: Server costs, high-speed mobile hotspot equipment, WhatsApp video infrastructure, and communication software to connect devotees for a live 2-minute video call.
  • Digital Records & Administrative Support: Generating booking confirmations, digital sankalp receipts, customer helpdesk, and administrative running costs.

The fee charged is strictly a cost-reimbursement and logistics management fee. It does not represent an entry fee to government ghats, a fee to visit temples, or religious merchandising.

3. Service Delivery & Live Video Darshan Protocol

Upon submitting a request and completing the contribution:

  1. Sankalp Registration: The devotee's full name, gotra (if provided), city, and specific prayer intention are recorded in our Seva Register.
  2. Ghat Diya Placement & Lighting: On the sacred evening of Deepotsav (7 November 2026), our assigned sevadar places the consecrated earthen diya along the Sarayu riverbank with your family's sacred sankalp and lights it with pure oil and wicks.
  3. Mobile Restriction on Ghats During Lighting: As per strict administrative security directives, safety guidelines, and crowd management protocols enforced by the local police and Ayodhya District Administration, mobile phones and personal recording devices are strictly prohibited and not permitted on the immediate ghat premises during the official diya lighting ceremony. Consequently, ground volunteers cannot carry or operate mobile devices at the exact moment of lighting to show the individual diya being lit live.
  4. Video Call Timing — Conducted After Diya Lighting (Post-Ceremony Darshan): Because mobile phones are strictly restricted during the active lighting process, the 2-minute live video call with our sevadars is conducted after the diya lighting ceremony has concluded (after diya jalne ke baad). Once permitted to use communication devices outside the cordoned lighting zone, our sevadars will initiate your video call to share live visual darshan of illuminated Ayodhya Dham, the glowing Sarayu riverfront, and convey sacred blessings directly to you and your family.
  5. Contingency for Telecom & Network Congestion: Due to millions of pilgrims and intense congregation at Ayodhya during Deepotsav, telecommunications networks (cellular data towers) frequently experience severe congestion, latency, or temporary signal drops. If an immediate real-time video call cannot connect due to cellular carrier failure, our team will coordinate the call at the earliest stable network window and provide digital photographic verification of the sacred celebration.
  6. Digital Booking Confirmation & Receipt: A digital Sankalp Confirmation Receipt carrying the devotee's booking ID, registered name, and prayer intention will be issued via WhatsApp and Email.

4. Administrative Compliance, Security Protocols & Force Majeure

Ayodhya Deepotsav is a mega-event governed by high security, state VIP protocols, and Uttar Pradesh Police guidelines:

  • Lawful Compliance: Our volunteers strictly follow all instructions issued by the Ayodhya District Administration, Uttar Pradesh Police, municipal authorities, and security personnel. We do not trespass into restricted government VIP enclosures or violate public safety guidelines.
  • Alternative Sacred Ghat Location: If access to a specific ghat (such as Ram Ki Paidi) is barricaded or temporarily sealed by authorities for VIP transit, security drills, or crowd dispersal, our sevadars are authorized to light your diya at another consecrated, permissible spiritual ghat along the sacred Sarayu riverbank with identical devotion.
  • Weather & Force Majeure: In the event of unseasonal torrential rain, strong winds, river flood alerts, or official state-mandated event cancellations beyond human control, sevadars will arrange the diya lighting at a covered sanctum or river pavilion in Ayodhya Dham as safely feasible.

5. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy

Because physical materials (handmade earthen lamps, pure oil, cotton wicks) are procured in advance from local potters and volunteer sevadars are organized ahead of the festival:

  • Cancellation Request: Devotees may cancel their request up to 72 hours prior to the festival date (before 4 November 2026) by writing to contact@ayodhyadeepotsav.com for a full refund minus nominal payment gateway processing charges.
  • Within 72 Hours: Once ground materials are procured from local artisans and sevadar schedules are finalized, cancellations cannot be processed.
  • Refund Processing Time: Approved refunds are credited back to the original source payment method within 5 to 7 working days via our secure payment gateway partner.

6. Devotee Privacy & Respectful Conduct

We revere the sacred trust you place in us:

  • Data Privacy: Devotee personal contact details (Name, WhatsApp number, email, and family gotra) are used strictly to coordinate your sankalp, execute the video call, and send your booking confirmation receipt. We will never sell, lease, or distribute your personal data to any commercial third parties.
  • Respectful Communication: During live video calls and WhatsApp interactions, devotees and volunteers are expected to maintain spiritual dignity, polite speech, and reverence suited for holy Ayodhya Dham.

7. Limitation of Liability & Governing Law

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law:

  • Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to our facilitation service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall under no circumstances exceed the total convenience fee actually paid by the devotee (maximum ₹999 per booking).
  • We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from telecommunication network outages, government security restrictions, or natural phenomena.
  • Jurisdiction: These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes or claims arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Uttar Pradesh, India.
